About us
I would like to introduce you to a new charitable organisation, Friends of Hastings House, set up to supplement the core services provided by the Hastings House medical team in Wellesbourne and Kineton, through the NHS.
There are several key points that the trustees wish to focus on:
Our intention is that the services and facilities we fund will be additional to those provided through Hastings House as part of its NHS remit
We want to ensure particularly in the early months that we provide some services relevant to a wide range of patients
Our remit is to help the 12,500 patients of Hastings House across the 19 communities in which they reside
Working closely with the Hastings House Team, the charity aims to:
Take a forward-thinking innovative approach to attract people of all ages to help and support the range of services required and use other volunteer organisations to provide enhanced support to vulnerable people.
Use our charitable status to apply for grant funding and use fundraising activities to provide resources to support its aims and objectives.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders such as Orbit Housing, Parish and District Councils, WCC, HHMC and other organisations to enhance and expand support services.
Have a clear communication strategy to engage with the local community and reach out to those who require support
Our current objectives:
To ensure funding for a Dementia Navigator based at Hastings House requiring funding of £4000 per year
Provide a Mental Health counsellor for two evenings a week to support teenagers and young adults, requiring funding of £5000 per year
Purchase of an ambulatory blood pressure machine at a cost of £1860 - done
Purchase of a Bovie Derm 942 machine to assist with minor ops surgery at a cost of £2,650-done
Friends of Hastings House is beginning to develop a longer-term plan with the core objective of providing or assisting in the provision of equipment, facilities and services, not normally provided by the statutory authorities and ancillary to those provided by the medical team, which will be communicated at a later date.
All of this will of course require significant sums of money which can only be achieved by a combination of grant funding; generosity of local businesses; & personal donations.
